Day two
Started our day with dimsum! Exploring places with navigator makes it easy! Tried one dim sum and Cherlyn and I ordered too much that we got a scolding from Yu to reflect on our orders. HAHA Everything was goooood! And the dessert, some coconut kueh with mango filling was yummy! A refreshing ending to all our warm food in the hot weather.
Here we are at Fa Yuen Street! Although we got reviews that there were loads to shop in Hong Kong, there wasn't really that much for us, or that the stuff just weren't what we will typically wear. Although the shoes are really cheap for flats, and boots. I think the stuff most worth buying for me are the bras! LOL SO COMFORTABLE! The material feels so soft, but i guess it's just cotton la. LOL Also, there are quite a few of those stalls selling curry fishballs along the streets everywhere. Some are better, some less. We tried them again, and these are more spicy. The fruit juice was really good thou! Got the combination that quenches thirst, apple and something but it wasn't sweet enough for me, but still nice. The pear and honeydew combo was goooood! :D
Found our way to the main town area, something like Orchard road, but we're searching for food instead of things to buy.
Found the famous teahouse but it was too expensive that we decided not to try it and went for others instead with our budget. Hahaha And THIS! IS SO GOOD! For those who are afraid of oily food, and fats and calories, this is not the place for you. But otherwise, it is amaaaazing! The oily tender meat with the plum sauce and some oily sauce. Super delicious! Didn't dine in as they were closing and seeing that we were tourists, they offered us take away. SO LUCKY! Ate the roasted goose while queueing for the tram to The Peak afterwards.
Since LukYu was closing and we could only get the meat, we went for Mak's noodles instead. I have to say, i don't think I'm a fan. As much as i like the big wantons and prawns, the soup tastes like MSG and the noodles are not really my thing. Not really a noodles kinda person in the first place. I guess i will choose the kopitiam's lotus root soup over the noodles in HK. :X My palette swings towards the savoury side. But anyways, the chef was saying that we should hurry eat our food before it turns cold and stop using our mobile phones. :X
Crazy long ass queue. Be prepared to queue for hours! We went after dinner around 7-8pm and left The Peak around 11 plus and took the last few trams, which we had to queue for quite awhile as well.
The view! It was a little foggy, but still, we get to see it all. Not sure if the view will be better in the day but i prefer the night lights.
Stopped by at the convenience store to replenish our stocks and grab food for the next morning. Trying out the different flavoured milk or juices as usual. :P
And supper! Because, dinner was too little for us. Hungry all day all night. Hehehe :P
That's it!
Bye~
