River Safari

Finally got the chance to go to River Safari! Have been wanting to check it out since i knew they were building it. The image in my head was a cruise down the river and getting to see animals doing their own thing. Animals like hippopotamus, zebra, ducks, eagles... that kinda thing. But i guess that's the real safari and i forgot that this is man-made so... it turned out kinda different from what i had expected. Okay, explain more at the end. 

Almost missed the chance because i was feeling kinda sick and tired the day before, i felt a little tired to go, and Sleeve was having fever as well, we almost ditched our plans but lucky we stuck to it. Had a fever before heading to bed, and was feeling awful when i woke up but it turned out to be a good day. And from that day onwards, i continued to be sick even though my fever lowered in the morning... 

SO, i was super excited the night before and wanted to wake up reeeeeeeally early to check out the animals because they always sleep in the afternoon! And i don't want to see them not moving around. :< Asked Sleeve to meet at 10am but she said it's too early and that we're meeting at 11am. One hour's difference isn't significant and they'll still be awake when we reach. i was kinda upset because i reeeeeeally wanted to see the animals and kept insisting to meet earlier. LOL Assumed the time that we were meeting was 10am and went to bed and set my alarm clock really early. LOL Ended up i was a little late and got the tickets while waiting for them. They said they wouldn't be late! They reach later than 11am. D: All by myself, i entertained myself by taking photos of myself. Lols. (above)

Yup, I'm really excited that i keep wanting photographs of me and everything around me.

The first stop!
To catch the manatees show. Oh and I've really checked out the timing of the shows beforehand so i kinda planned the route for us. :D

The look so cute! Like a cross between a mouse without ears and a really fat bolster. They look so hug-able and adorable! Hmm... looking at this picture now, they do seem like a big bag of air floating around in the water too.

Awwww! Managed to trick it to come to me! Maybe I'm it's type or my fingers looks like food. Or they just want to play with me! :D They kinda look like piglet from here with their snout.

Okay, i can't remember if it's called a sea otter or not but they sure are some speedy little things! Took me awhile to get a clear shot of it. Think it was kinda playing with me too after dashing around in circles, it was arrowing itself towards me. Either that or i just really want to play with them so i think that they are playing with me. LOL So cute! Their fur looks so smooth and it makes me tempted to touch them.

Amazed. The fishies on the left have specks of gold on them. Expensive creatures, cannot date this type of fishies, too high maintenance. Lols. Compared to the right, it looks kinda pretty because the stripes looks kinda scary to me.

It's us again! Still very happy! The other two can't take the sun. Too bright and hot for them. Hahaha They kept telling me to wear my shades but i refused. I want to see everything first hand in their true colour. I like the sunshine. Lololol

Next stop! Walking into the open with the monkeys free to roam around. They were super fast too! And most of them likes to hide, and play with each other so they kept running around amongst the bushes. And tourist Candice strikes again!

Spot the monkey! Oh, and they're pretty tiny too compared to the monkeys from the zoo.

What a lovely day! And a lovely scenery! Everything feels so peaceful. :)

Went to catch our boat ride! Even though we booked a later timing, we can still take the ride at an earlier timing. Guess that's because it wasn't crowded that day.

The boat rising up to another level! Felt like a roller coaster ride for 30 secs.

Pink flamingos! And i have never heard of ibis before the colour of their feathers are so cute!

And this is the "too hot for me" face of Sleeve. Miang was also complaining about the weather hahaha but that's partly due to her long sleeves shirt!!!

So windy and sunny! Full of sunshine and not gloomy at all! Good weather to cheer me up!

Tried to self time on our own, but our angle was kinda fail. Hahaha Didn't manage to capture the blue skies and greenery. :/ Okay, but there's still us in the picture, what am i upset about? Lololol.

And me with nature. :) and strong wind. and hair flying everywhere. Kinda miss my long hair.

The main attraction! Panda! SO adorable and chubby and furry like a big teddy bear that you want to hug them to sleep! D: It was sleeping. And we kept loitering around until it finally woke up and move around! Yayyyyy~

Red panda! Look how bushy the tail is! It really has fur that you reeeeeeally will get tempted to touch. Like you wanna squish the fur and move yours hands up and down feeling the fur against your hands. It was moving quite fast too. Amazing how they climb over the trunk and not jump off or something. Felt like it was really close to me.

They have an aquarium too! I miss the aquarium. :( Ahh... memories. :'( 

And... Tourist Candice will never stop.

Some fierce looking fishies around here. Flat face fish with wide eyes. Lol. And awful looking prints that is. :X It's almost like a fashion disaster. With Mohawk too.

I think my face was as such was that the fishies weren't cute. Bias towards cute looking things. :X

Alligator spotted! But it doesn't move! D: I think the sun was too hot for it and it took shade under the tree.

Awkward looking turtle. :/ Funny how the shell doesn't look hard. It looks sponge-like and soft like a soft toy. But nope, not cute like a soft toy.

Alligator fish. Look at its loooong mouth. Kinda looks like a swordfish. The lady said that it can grow up to 3 metres long Whoa... :O

Super big turtle! Look at its shell! Almost like those huge ass figurines people place in front of shops or as decorations.

Yeah, and we had an abrupt ending because we realise that it was quite small. And we managed to see everything already. :/

I had a good time! I like seeing animals. But at the end of this, i actually felt bad and guilty. Because the animals were all locked up in really small spaces that didn't seem enough for them to move around, especially the jaguar during the boat ride. Jaguars can run at such high speeds and they are known to roam and chase, but it was held in a room that wasn't enough for it to run. :( And the fishes that were kept had really small space that they can't swim and mostly just stay still. Animals are suppose to move, that's animals. And not moving, they seem more like exhibition pieces than nature. :( Even the pandas, had limited room. What seemed like connected patches of green and bamboo were mostly just decoration after i spotted some decors that act more like restrictions . :( And i thought the boat was going to cruise down the animals almost natural habitat, i didn't expect the boat ride to be like a boat going through exhibitions... fences were pretty close such that the animals cannot hide somewhere further and people won't be able to see them if they do hide. So the animals were just standing there with nowhere to move. :( Not sure if they let the animals roam once the place closes or leave them there :( Quite sad. Not sure if i will still visit such places next time. I feel like I'm part of it since i pay to see them, I'm paying to hold them captive. :( 

So yup... that's how my little trip went. Dinner after and head home for dinner.
